List of Do’s and Don'ts for Each and Every Plumber

DO'S-

  • Maintain the purity of the water in your house by regularly inspecting the water filter and cleaning it along with its filter candle every week. The El Cajon Plumber suggest you should change your filter candle after every 3 months.

  • To maintain the sharpness of your disposer blades, grind some ice cubes in it. This is always a good idea and will ensure the blades of your grinder never fall blunt.

  • Hot water to the rescue. Always drain a pot full of hot water monthly down the drain to avoid accumulation of debris or other dirt particles which can cause trouble in future.

  • To maintain the effectiveness of your water heater, clean it as well as its drain thoroughly over a fixed period of time to avoid any settlement of sediments. Because, they harden over a period of time and then cause hindrances in the process of water heating.

In the case of a gas leak or other gas emergency,

·        Open all the doors and windows of your house to ensure the gas smell doesn’t get trapped at a single place and you get your supply of fresh air in.

·        Turn the gas off from the main line.

·        Leave your house and stand out. Make sure your house is completely evacuated.

·        Call for help. There are a lot of plumbers in Costa Mesa that work 24x7 and are known for their quick service. You can even call the national helpline.

·        The El Cajon plumbers have issued a whole set of guidelines related to what should be done in such a case of emergency.

DON’T'S-

  • Avoid disposing off greasy materials such as cooking oils or other types of fats through your drain. This is likely to cause trouble in your drainage system.

  • There are plumber costa mesa who educate families on what and what not to dispose off in the flush. Toilet papers are made of that kind of material which dissolve easily but other materials like plastic, paper, soaps, hair and other wastes should not be flushed down the toilet as they will force your toilet to get clogged.

  • Hot water not to the rescue. While you’ve heard of this hack a lot but you don’t know the whole part of the story. Pouring down hot water can be useful in the cases of sinks, and other drains but not in the case of toilets. The toilet seats and commodes cannot tolerate hot water and it might cause your toilet to erode, so hot water over here, is a big no no.

In the case of a gas leak or some other gas emergency,

·        Do not light any kind of fire or even smoke inside or near the building. This is very risky.

·        Do not use digital or electronic devices near the gas as it can cause a spark and might blow up.

·        Do not turn the switches of other electrical appliances on, this can also lead to an explosion.

It would be wise if you follow these suggestions and keep these points in your mind forever. It will surely benefit you in the long run.
